How to Get Rid of Wrinkles in Sheer Curtains
Sheer curtains can be a great way to keep people outside of your home from seeing inside without blocking outside light from entering your home. These curtains can get filled with dust and dirt in a hurry. Cleaning the curtains isn't too difficult. However, once you do so, they will probably be filled with wrinkles. Because sheer curtains are delicate, it's important that you attempt to remove these wrinkles in a safe manner. Here are some ways to get wrinkles out of sheer curtains.
1го Wash your sheer curtains in cold water and then hang them outside to dry. The weight from the dripping water will help to naturally remove the wrinkles from the curtains. If you can't hang them outside (because of the weather or where you live), simply hang your sheer curtains on your shower curtain rod.
2го Use a small, hand-held fabric steamer to remove the wrinkles from your sheer curtains. Hang your curtains as you normally would in an open area where you can walk around both sides of the curtains. Then, run the steamer lengthwise down the curtain and about 4 to 6 inches away from the curtain. You may need a step stool to steam the entire curtain.
3го Hang your curtains in your bathroom about 2 feet away from the shower. Open the curtain or door to your shower area and turn your shower on with the heat all the way up. Close the bathroom door and wait roughly 5 minutes. Turn the shower off, remove the curtains and hang them. If there is excess moisture on the curtains, grab two bath towels (or dish towels) and dry the curtains. To dry them, place one hand (with towel) on one side of the curtain and the other hand (also holding a towel) on the other. Clap your hands together so that you're clasping onto the curtain. Then, run the towels down both sides of the curtain. Do this to get rid of the wrinkles.
4го Use an iron and a dish towel to get wrinkles out of your sheer curtains. Lay the sheer curtains flat on your ironing board. Turn your iron on the lowest possible "steam" level. Place a dish or bath towel on the area of the curtains you wish to iron and begin to iron on the towel. As long as you don't leave the iron in one place for more than a few seconds, you should avoid ruining your sheer curtains.
5го Let the steam from a kettle get the wrinkles out of sheer curtains. This is especially easy if you have an electric kettle. Leave the curtains up wherever they normally go in your home and, once stream begins coming out of the kettle, run the end of the kettle along both sides of the curtains. Use this method in the same way as you would the fabric steamer.
